Opportunity is knocking now – the South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI) is offering 300 places for its EPC Skills Development Programme 2026, and the deadline is fast approaching.
What is the EPC Skills Development Programme?
The programme is a short‑term, 10‑day training that introduces learners to Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) work. It supports South Africa’s move toward greener buildings and is run by SANEDI with help from the Department of Electricity and Energy and GIZ.
Training will start on or after 12 October 2026 and will be held at TVET colleges in KwaZulu‑Natal, Gauteng, Western Cape, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Northern Cape and Free State.
Who can apply?
To be eligible you must:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be aged between 18 and 35 years.
- Be unemployed at the time of application.
- Hold a Matric (Grade 12) certificate or any NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Have Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy at Grade 12 or NQF Level 4.
- Be able to attend the full 10‑day training.
- Be willing to work both independently and in a team, and to travel for field data collection if required.

Note: The initial 10‑day programme does not include a monthly stipend, and transport support is not guaranteed.
