Job Overview
Meropa Casino & Entertainment World in Polokwane is opening a one‑year gaming learnership program for people who have finished high school but don’t yet have a job. The program will give you a National Certificate in Gaming Operations and teach you how to work as a casino dealer in a real casino setting.
What You’ll Learn
During the 12 months you’ll study the main table games that people play at a casino. You’ll learn how to run Blackjack, American Roulette, and Dealer Poker like a pro. You will also practice dealing cards and coins, keeping a clear track of the game, and interacting with guests in a friendly way. At the end of the course you’ll be ready for an entry‑level job in the gaming industry.
Location, Time, and Deadline
- Where: Meropa Casino & Entertainment World, Polokwane
- Length: 12 months of training and work experience
- Application closing date: 18 November 2025

Who Can Apply?
- You must have a certified copy of your Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- You must also provide a certified copy of your ID.
- No previous work in a casino or gaming job is needed. This is a great chance for first‑time job seekers to start a new career.

- A clear head for numbers – you don’t need to be a math genius, but you should be comfortable with simple counting and money handling.
- A confident and friendly way of speaking to people.
- Good listening skills and the ability to follow instructions carefully.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new things.
- Being able to stay calm and keep playing even when the game gets busy.
- English speaking skills that are clear and easy to understand.
Why This Program Helps You
The learnership will give you hands‑on experience that most employers in the gaming industry want to see. By the end of the year, you will hold a National Certificate in Gaming Operations, which is a recognized qualification in South Africa. This certificate can open doors to a variety of jobs inside casinos, from dealing to customer service, and even help you move into other roles in the hospitality sector.
