The Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) has opened 135 paid internships for people who have just finished an agriculture degree and are still looking for work. These places will give you hands‑on farm experience while you earn a steady paycheck.

Who is allowed to apply?
- You must have a Grade 12 certificate and an NQF Level 6 (diploma or degree) in agriculture or a related field that is recognised by SAQA.
- If you already have a PERSAL number for a government internship that has lasted 12 months or longer, you can’t apply.
- The programme is aimed mainly at graduates from Limpopo.
- The equity targets are: 50–55 % women, 80 % youth (18–35 years), 20 % graduates aged 36–40, and 3 % persons with disabilities.
What you’ll do
This isn’t a desk job. You’ll be out on the farm, doing things that farmers need every day:
- Helping manage the farm
- Checking crops and keeping an eye on pests
- Caring for livestock and monitoring health
- Giving animals medicine and identifying them
- Spraying crops and keeping records
- Loading, unloading and packaging produce
- Marketing farm goods and looking for new buyers
- Supervising workers
- Assisting with farm planning
