What the bursary offers
Harmony Gold Mining Company will fund full‑time study at a recognised South African university. The bursary covers subjects that support the mining sector, such as Mining Engineering, Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current), Mechanical Engineering, Geology, Survey and Planning, and Extractive Metallurgy. Preference is given to applicants who live near Harmony’s mines.

Who can apply
Both Grade 12 learners who will start university and students already enrolled may apply.
Age: 18 – 35 years.
Citizenship: South African citizen with a valid ID.
Academic results:
- National Senior Certificate with at least 60 % in Mathematics, Science and English (Rating Level 5).
- For Engineering studies: at least 70 % in Mathematics and Physical Science (Rating Level 6).
- Current university students need a minimum 60 % average in their major subjects.
Applicants from communities around Harmony’s operations receive priority.
