GTA 2026 Digital & Multimedia Internships – Deadline 18 Sep

Gauteng Tourism Authority is accepting applications for two 24‑month internships in Creative Digital Design, Content Production, Photography, Videography and Multimedia. The deadline is 18 September 2026 at 16:00, and the placements are based in Gauteng, South Africa.

What the internships involve

GTA is looking for fresh graduates to help grow its online presence and tell the story of Gauteng as a tourist destination. Both roles are fixed‑term contracts (24 months) with a monthly stipend of R6 000 – R7 000. The two positions are:

  • Creative Digital Design & Content Production – Ref: DCP/2026
  • Multimedia Visual Content Creator – Ref: VCC/2026

Who can apply

You must have a National Diploma or a degree in a related field. Relevant qualifications include:

  • Digital Media, Multimedia Design, Graphic Design
  • Digital Communications, Marketing, Journalism
  • Film & Television Production, Public Relations
  • Multimedia Production, Visual Communication

Basic knowledge of digital content creation, storytelling and visual communication is required. Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition or Canva will be an advantage.

What you will gain

The internship will give you hands‑on experience in:

  • Creating social‑media graphics, infographics and promotional material
  • Producing videos, photography, podcasts and website content
  • Managing digital calendars, performance dashboards and audience analytics

How to apply

  1. Prepare an up‑to‑date CV that highlights your digital media projects.
  2. Write a brief cover letter that states which internship you are applying for and includes the reference number (DCP/2026 or VCC/2026).
  3. Obtain certified copies of all qualifications. Ensure the certificates are dated within the last three months.
  4. Send the three documents (CV, cover letter, certified qualifications) in a single email to hr6@gauteng.net. Address the email to Nosipho Masango.
  5. In the subject line, write the reference number and internship title, e.g., “DCP/2026 – Creative Digital Design & Content Production”.

Tips to improve your chances

  • Show a portfolio or links to any digital work you have done, even if it was for coursework.
  • Mention specific software you are comfortable with (Adobe suite, Canva, Microsoft Office, Mac applications).
  • Explain how you can help GTA boost its online reach and tell Gauteng’s story.
  • Proofread your application carefully; missing documents often lead to disqualification.
  • Apply early – applications received after the deadline may not be considered.
