What the Learnership Looks Like

Trades You Can Choose From

  • Electrical / Millwright / Auto‑Electrics

Minimum Requirements

  • South African citizen with a valid ID
  • Age 18–35
  • Currently not employed
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Proof of current address
  • Fit to pass a medical fitness test and the Reasonable Fit Assessment (RFA)

Education Options

You can enter through one of two paths:

1. High‑school Route

  • Finish Grade 12 with at least 50 % in Mathematics and 40 % in Physical Science

2. N2 Route

  • Finish N2 with the subjects that match your chosen trade

Trade‑specific subjects needed at N2 level:

  • Electrical / Millwright / Auto‑Electrics: N2 Mathematics & N2 Science
  • Fitter / Diesel Mechanic: N2 Mathematics, N2 Science and N2 Engineering Drawing
  • Boilermaker / Plater Welder: N2 Mathematics, N2 Science and N2 Structural Drawing

What You’ll Do

  • Attend the SIVOS training classes
  • Work on actual mining equipment under supervision
  • Follow all safety rules and company procedures
  • Keep work logs, finish assignments and prepare for trade tests
