Zurel Bros SA Millwright & Fitting Apprenticeship 2026 – Closing 13 Oct

Looking for a hands‑on trade that can launch your career right away? Zurel Bros SA is offering Millwright and Fitting apprenticeships in Polokwane, and the deadline is fast approaching.

What the apprenticeship is

Zurel Bros SA will take on apprentices for two trades – Millwright and Fitting – for the year 2026. The programme combines on‑the‑job experience with formal trade training. You will work in a real workshop, learn maintenance skills and prepare for future trade tests.

Who can apply

To be eligible you must:

  • Hold an NCV qualification at Level 4‑7, or have studied the relevant subjects.
  • Provide certificates that clearly show the qualification and subjects.
  • Be willing to train in Polokwane, Limpopo.
  • Note that the South African Qualifications Authority (SQA) or SOR certificates are not accepted.

Make sure your NCV subjects match the trade you are interested in – Millwright needs both electrical and mechanical basics, while Fitting focuses on mechanical maintenance.

What you will gain

Both apprenticeships give you practical workshop exposure and the chance to:

  • Learn to install, maintain and repair industrial machinery.
  • Develop electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills (Millwright).
  • Practice fitting, alignment and bearing work (Fitting).
  • Build a strong CV for jobs in manufacturing, mining, engineering and plant maintenance.
  • Earn experience that will help you pass a future trade test.

How to apply – step by step

  1. Update your CV – include your contact details, education and any work experience.
  2. Gather all relevant certificates. Make sure each one shows the qualification and subjects clearly.
  3. Compose an email to applications@zurel.co.za. Use the subject line “Millwright Apprenticeship – Your Name” or “Fitting Apprenticeship – Your Name” as appropriate.
  4. Attach your CV and all certificates to the email.
  5. Send the email before 13 October 2026.

Tips to improve your chances

  • Double‑check that the certificates are legible and include the full subject list.
  • Tailor your CV to highlight any experience with machinery, electrical work or metalwork.
  • Write a short cover note in the email explaining why you chose the Millwright or Fitting trade.
  • Proofread everything – small mistakes can cost you an interview.
  • Apply early; the employer may start shortlisting before the final deadline.

Next steps

If you meet the requirements, send your application today. Even if you don’t get this place, the process will give you a clearer idea of what employers expect, and you can use the experience for future applications.
