What the bursary is
Volkswagen Group Africa (VWGA) is offering a bursary for the 2027 academic year. It is open to South African undergraduate students who study at a recognised and accredited university or college in the country. Who can apply
- South African citizen by birth, with a Matric certificate.
- Matric result: Bachelor’s Pass with at least 70 % average.
- Enrolled full‑time in an eligible undergraduate qualification.
- Will be entering the second, third or fourth year of study in 2027.
- Current tertiary average of at least 65 %.
- Not employed full‑time.
- Must study at a recognised South African institution.
- Preference given to designated groups in line with VWGA’s transformation objectives.

- A laptop for study purposes
The bursary may also include vacation work placements, mentoring, development programmes and extra academic support. In return, you will need to work for VWGA after graduation – one year of work‑back for each year of funding received.
