Need practical experience now? Tshwane University of Technology is offering three paid Counselling Psychology internships that start in January 2027. The deadline is 28 July 2026, so act fast.
What the internship is
The Department of Student Development and Support at TUT’s Pretoria West Campus will take on three interns for 12 months. You will work with university students and children at a nearby children’s home, delivering counselling, group work, life‑skills classes and community‑based support.
Who can apply
To be eligible you must:
- Be enrolled in a Master of Arts (M A) programme in Counselling Psychology at a recognised South African university.
- Have a current lecturer or supervisor (M1 level) write a reference letter for you.
- Be able to start on 2 January 2027.
- Submit certified copies of your ID, Honours transcript, and, if available, your M1 transcript.

Tips to improve your chance
- Double‑check that your ID and transcripts are properly certified – uncertified copies will be rejected.

- If you are shortlisted, be ready to give a short presentation and to complete a competency test.
