Thorn Castle (Pty) Ltd is looking for unemployed South African youth to start a Welding or Electrical apprenticeship in 2026. The deadline is fast approaching – you must apply by 15 October 2026.
What the apprenticeship offers
You can join a structured 2‑year programme in Polokwane, Limpopo. There are seven places in total:
- 4 Welding Apprentice positions
- 3 Electrical Apprentice positions
Who can apply
To be eligible you need at least one of the following qualifications:
- N2 certificate
- NCV Level 4 certificate
Having already worked in a workshop is helpful but not a must.
What you will learn
Electrical apprenticeship
- Wiring different types of electrical panels
- Testing motors
- Finding and fixing faults
- Using power and hand tools
- Basic workshop electrical tasks
Welding apprenticeship
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
- Gas Metal Arc Welding – MIG (GMAW)
- Different welding positions and joints
- Using power and hand tools
- Practical workshop welding work
Prior experience in either field will give you an advantage.
