Sumitomo Rubber South Africa is looking for young people who don’t yet have a job to join its 12‑month “YES Learner Programme 2025.” If you’re under 34, live in South Africa, and want to start a career in a real factory or office setting, this is a chance to learn the ropes, meet mentors, and get hands‑on work experience with one of the country’s biggest tyre makers.
About the YES Learner Programme
The program is a year‑long, step‑by‑step training plan. You’ll move through several departments so you can see how the whole company works. The goal is to give you real work skills that match what you studied in school and help you figure out the career path you want to follow.

What you’ll learn
If you have a Certificate, Diploma, or a similar qualification in any of these fields, you might fit in perfectly:

- Administration
- Information Technology (IT)
- Environmental Health & Safety
- Supply Chain
- Human Resources (HR)
- Quality
Each area lets you work inside a specific part of the company. You’ll pick up practical skills and a better sense of how that part of the business runs.
Who can apply?
- You must be a South African youth who is not currently working.
- You need to be 34 years old or younger.
- It’s best if you haven’t had any previous work experience.
- If you’ve already taken part in the YES Programme, this spot isn’t for you.
The programme is made for first‑time job seekers who want to step into a real work setting, learn what it takes to succeed, and build a solid start to their career.
