What the opportunity is
The SIU is hiring a Trainer to develop and deliver courses on forensic, digital and cyber investigations. The role supports anti‑corruption and law‑enforcement training across South Africa, the SADC region and other African countries. It is a two‑year fixed‑term contract with a medical‑aid subsidy.

- Formal accreditation as a trainer and as an assessor
What you will gain
The position offers a salary range of R902 484.07 to R1 313 778.27 per year. You will receive a medical‑aid subsidy and gain experience working with senior investigators from government, SADC agencies and international cyber‑experts. Key duties
Training delivery
- Design and run courses on forensic, digital, cyber‑forensic, cryptocurrency, AI and open‑source investigations
- Teach law‑enforcement officers, government officials and provincial premiers’ staff
- Assess learner performance and provide feedback
Curriculum development
- Create course manuals, learning activities and assessment questions
- Align content with accreditation standards and update it when legislation or technology changes
Learning Management System (Moodle) administration
- Upload course material and assessments
- Maintain learner profiles and record results
- Support online learning and troubleshoot basic LMS issues
Collaboration
- Work with international cyber specialists, South African and SADC law‑enforcement agencies, universities and anti‑corruption bodies
- Engage stakeholders and contribute to the SIU Anti‑Corruption and Cyber Academy
Required knowledge and skills
You should be well‑versed in forensic, financial, digital and cyber investigations, as well as open‑source intelligence, procurement and anti‑corruption investigations. You also need a solid understanding of South African legislation such as the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act 74 of 1996, and related financial‑crime laws.
Key skills include analytical thinking, problem solving, clear written and verbal communication, presentation ability, stakeholder engagement, planning, time‑management and attention to detail.
Travel requirements
The role involves extensive travel. You may need to train officers in different provinces, deliver programmes in SADC countries, visit universities and attend meetings with international experts. The SIU does not cover relocation costs.
