If you’re a recent graduate who’s still looking for a foothold in the workforce, the SITA Internship Programme could be the gateway you need. SITA Internship Programme is opening applications now, and the deadline is fast approaching.

What’s on offer?

The SITA Internship Programme is a 12‑month, paid experience for unemployed South African graduates. You’ll earn a monthly stipend of R7 800 while learning the ins and outs of government ICT work. If you perform well, there’s a real possibility of being absorbed into a permanent, critical role at SITA after the internship.

Who can apply?

To qualify you must meet all of the following:

  • South African citizen, unemployed, aged 18‑35
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree, 3‑year National Diploma or a qualification at NQF Level 6 or above
  • No prior work experience is required
  • Not a previous SITA learnership or internship participant

Priority is given to applicants who live in the provinces where posts are available. Special consideration is also given to people living with disabilities and to white, coloured and Indian applicants, in line with SITA’s employment equity plan.

What you’ll gain

During the internship you’ll:

  • Earn a R7 800 monthly stipend
  • Acquire hands‑on experience in a real workplace environment
  • Work inside South Africa’s public sector ICT landscape

  • Human Capital Management (EW & OHS) – 1 post
    Requirements: ND/B Tech in Safety Management or ND in Environmental Health
  • Finance – 4 posts
    Requirements: BCom Accounting or Diploma/B Tech in Auditing/Accounting
  • Supply Chain Management – 6 posts
    Requirements: BCom Contract Management, Supply Chain Management, LLB, BCom Business Management, ND Logistics, ND Purchasing Management or ND Industrial Engineering
  • PSS Commercial and Analysis – 1 post
    Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Financial Management
  • Customer Operation – 2 posts
    Requirements: ND in Business Management, Administration or Project Management
  • IFASS: Application Training – 3 posts
    Requirements: BEd, Higher Diploma in Education or Occupationally Directed ETDP
  • Governance, Risk, Compliance and Integrity (GRCI) – 1 post

Mpumalanga

  • Supply Chain Management – 3 posts
    Requirements: ND/Degree in Management, Supply Chain Management or Purchasing Management

Northern Cape

  • Customer Relations Management – 1 post
    Requirements: ND in Business Administration

Eastern Cape

  • Supply Chain Management – 1 post
    Requirements: BCom or ND in Supply Chain Management

Practical tips to boost your application

  • Start your application early – the deadline is 6 March 2026.
