Explore a 24‑Month Internship in Internal Auditing – Apply by 20 February 2026

Looking for a chance to jumpstart a career in audit, compliance and risk management?
The South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator (SADPMR) is looking for fresh graduates to join its Internship Programme 2026. Over two years you’ll work in Johannesburg’s Doornfontein office and learn what it takes to keep the diamond and precious metals industry honest and transparent.

Why This Internship Is Worth Your Time

SADPMR is the national body that checks that companies dealing in diamonds and precious metals follow the law. The work you’ll do will help keep the industry fair and protect the country’s reputation.

The internship gives you real‑world experience in:

  • Internal audit – checking how organisations operate and spotting problems before they grow.
  • Governance and compliance – learning the rules that businesses must obey.
  • Risk management – figuring out where a company might face trouble and planning solutions.

You’ll be guided by people who already do this job every day. They’ll teach you the tools of the trade, how to write reports, and how to stay ethical in a complex environment.

Who Should Apply?

  • You must have a National Diploma, BCom, or a degree in Internal Auditing, Auditing, Accounting, Risk Management or a related field.
  • Your qualification should be at NQF Level 6 or higher.
  • You must be a South African citizen.
  • Your age should be between 18 and 35.

In addition, bring the following skills:

  • Good at analysing numbers and solving puzzles.
  • Clear writing and speaking skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work alone and with a team.
  • Very careful with details and honest in all tasks.
  • Eager to learn and grow.

What You’ll Do

As an intern, you’ll help with all stages of an audit:

  1. Plan audits by looking at risks and setting priorities.
  2. Collect data and work on the field side of audits.
  3. Write up findings and support recommendations for improvement.
  4. Track follow‑up actions to see that problems get fixed.
  5. Keep records and handle admin work.
  6. Respect confidentiality and keep all information safe.

These tasks mirror what senior auditors do, so you’ll finish the program ready for a professional role.
