What the bursary offers
The SACBW Foundation NPC will fund female Matric learners who plan to begin tertiary studies in 2027. The award also includes the Youth Leader Award from the South African Council for Business Women, recognising academic excellence and leadership potential.
Who can apply
- South African citizen
- Female and younger than 20 years
- Currently enrolled in Matric
- Overall average of at least 70 %
- Intend to start an eligible qualification in 2027
- Show genuine financial need

- Business Development Management
- Digital Marketing
- Marketing Management
- Practical Entrepreneurship
Other business‑related courses may be considered, but the listed subjects receive priority.

How to apply – step by step

- Complete the form in full.
- Gather the required documents:
- Certified copy of your ID
- Certified copy of your June Matric results (showing name, school, subjects, marks, overall average, and school stamp)
- 250‑word motivational essay
- Three‑minute video that follows the essay content
- Combine all written documents (form, ID copy, Matric results, essay) into ONE PDF. Name the file using your surname and name, for example Thandi_Mokoena_SACBW_Bursary_2027.pdf.
- Attach the single PDF to an email addressed to info@sacbwfoundation.co.za. Use the subject line: SACBW Foundation Bursary.
- In the same email, include the three‑minute video file or a link to where it is hosted.
- Send the email before the closing date – 31 August 2026.
Tips to improve your chances
- Check that every document is certified and clearly readable. A blurry PDF will be rejected.
- Proofread your essay. Keep it around 250 words, personal and focused on why you need the bursary and how you will give back.
- Record your video in a quiet, well‑lit place. Speak clearly, smile, and stay within the three‑minute limit.
- If you cannot afford the R199 registration fee mentioned in the form, email the Foundation early to request a waiver. Include proof of your financial situation.
- Submit your application a few days before the deadline. This gives you time to fix any attachment or video‑upload problems.
- Follow up politely if you do not hear back by the end of September. (The original notice says “31 September”, but September has only 30 days.)
