PRDW Bursary 2027: Requirements and How to Apply

PRDW is now accepting applications for its 2027 Bursary Programme. The deadline is fast approaching – you have until 28 August 2026 at 16:00 to apply.

What the bursary offers

PRDW will fund South African students who are studying a BSc or BEng in engineering. The support covers tuition and living costs for the 2027 academic year. In return you will do a period of vacation work with PRDW, gaining real‑world experience.

Who can apply

  • South African citizen or permanent resident.
  • Full‑time student at a recognised and accredited South African university.
  • Enrolled in a BSc or BEng Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • At least the third year of study already completed.
  • Minimum overall academic average of 65%.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Willing and able to complete vacation work near Cape Town.

How to apply – step by step

  1. Download the official application form: PRDW Bursary Application Form 2027.
  2. Gather the required documents:
    • ID (South African citizens) or passport and permanent residence permit.
    • Matric certificate.
    • Full university transcript from the start of your studies.
    • Letter of admission or proof of current registration.
    • Latest student account statement showing financial need.
    • Curriculum Vitae.
    • Personalised cover letter.
    • Contactable references.
  3. Attach the completed form and all documents to an email.
  4. Send the email to kpillary@prdw.com with the subject line PRDW Bursary 2027.
  5. Keep a copy of the sent email for your records.

Tips to improve your chances

  • Maintain or improve your average above the 65% minimum.
  • Proofread your cover letter – make it clear why you need the bursary.
  • Include references who can speak about your academic performance and character.
  • Highlight any engineering projects, internships or volunteer work.
  • Ensure all documents are legible and up‑to‑date.
  • Submit well before the deadline to avoid last‑minute issues.
