Postbank is hiring Customer Services Clerks – a great chance to start a banking career
If you love helping people and want a job that lets you learn about modern banking, Postbank is looking for Customer Services Clerks (CSCs) in all nine South African provinces. These positions are paid for a fixed period and work in local retail stores, giving customers a friendly face for everyday banking tasks. The role is part of a big public‑sector hiring push for 2026, with openings in cities, townships and rural communities.
What a Customer Services Clerk does
A CSC is the main point of contact for shoppers who need to do things like deposit cash, withdraw money, check their account balance, or update personal details. You’ll also be the guide that shows customers how to use Postbank’s mobile app, USSD service, or ATMs, helping them move from in‑person banking to digital options.
Key daily tasks
- Help customers – walk them through deposits, withdrawals and balance checks.
- Make sure everything is safe – verify identity, use KYC/AML checks and keep customer data private.
- Use technology – operate a CSC terminal or tablet, generate one‑time passwords or barcodes for cash, and confirm transactions in the bank system.
- Fix problems – resolve any transaction errors or expired requests.
- Teach digital tools – help people reset PINs and activate their first mobile banking account.
These duties give you a front‑line view of how modern banking works while keeping you connected to people every day.
