Who can apply

To be eligible you must:

  • Be an unemployed South African youth with a valid ID.
  • Have completed Grade 12.
  • Hold a recognised three‑year Degree or Diploma in Financial Accounting (or a closely related qualification) from a South African higher‑education institution.
  • Have no previous work experience in the finance field.
  • Never have taken part in another internship programme.
  • Possess an NQF Level 8 qualification (advantageous, not mandatory).

The internship will give you hands‑on exposure to finance management functions. You will sign an employment contract and a performance agreement, giving you a realistic view of a finance role in a public sector environment. The monthly stipend helps with living costs while you build valuable skills.

  1. Prepare a detailed curriculum vitae.

    • Your South African ID document.
    • Grade 12 certificate.
    • All tertiary qualifications.
