What the bursary is
Old Mutual is offering a bursary for students who want to become actuaries. It covers all study costs and promises a job at Old Mutual after graduation. The funding starts from your first day at university and continues until you qualify as an actuary.
Who can apply
You must meet the following conditions:
- South African citizen
- Score at least 80% in Mathematics
- Score 60% in English Home Language or 70% in English First Additional Language
- Score 70% in every other subject
- Be accepted or applying to one of the listed universities
- Be ready to work for Old Mutual after you graduate

- University of Cape Town (UCT)
- University of Pretoria (UP)
- University of the Witwatersrand (Wits)
- University of Johannesburg (UJ)
- Stellenbosch University
- North‑West University (NWU)
- University of the Free State (UFS)
- University of KwaZulu‑Natal (UKZN – note: no longer ASSA accredited)

How to apply
