National Consumer Tribunal Internship 2026 – Build Your Legal Career

The National Consumer Tribunal (NCT) is looking for South African graduates who are currently unemployed to join a 24‑month internship program that will start in 2026 and run through 2027. This internship is based in Centurion, Gauteng, and will pay a monthly stipend of R11,860. You need to send your application before 9 December 2025 at 16:45.
If you’re a fresh graduate eager to learn how consumer disputes are resolved and want to make a real impact on people’s lives, this is a chance you don’t want to miss.

What the Internship Looks Like

The NCT was set up in 2006 by the National Credit Act to handle disputes about unsecured credit and to protect consumers across South Africa. During the internship, you won’t just sit in meetings. You’ll be working on real cases, helping draft reports, and using modern digital tools to help the tribunal run smoothly. It’s a place where you can see how rules and policies are turned into action and where your ideas can make a difference.

Why It’s a Good Choice

The NCT has a friendly, open culture that values:

  • Being energetic and creative – you’re encouraged to bring fresh ideas.
  • Doing work with purpose – each task is aimed at helping South Africans get fair treatment with credit and consumer rights.
  • Using technology – you’ll get to work with online tools and modern software.
  • Being available 24/7 – the tribunal serves everyone, so teamwork and communication are key.
  • Making a positive difference – the work you do will help shape a fairer consumer landscape.

The internship is open to graduates under 35 with a diploma or bachelor’s degree in one of these fields. For each field, you must quote the reference number when you email your application.
