Mpumalanga Provincial Treasury Internship Opportunities 2026

Want a real‑world job in your own province?
The Mpumalanga Provincial Treasury is looking for unemployed graduates from Mpumalanga to join its Internship Programme 2026/27. The program is a 24‑month paid placement that gives you hands‑on experience in a government office, helps you build a résumé, and can open the door to a full‑time public‑sector career.

What the Internship Looks Like

The internship runs for two years and is split into different fields so you can pick the one that matches what you studied. Every intern will receive a R94 326 per year stipend to help with travel, food and day‑to‑day costs. You’ll also be paired with a mentor and will go through structured training that covers everyday tasks in government, from paperwork to budgeting.

Who Can Apply?

  • Unemployed graduates between 18 and 35 years old
  • Must hold a diploma, degree, honours, or master’s from an accredited South African university
  • Must be a South African citizen who lives in Mpumalanga
  • Must not have done another internship before

If you meet all of these, you’re eligible to apply. Missing any one of them will mean you can’t be considered.

Why This Matters

Getting an internship in a government department lets you see how public money is managed and how policies get turned into action. It’s a good stepping stone if you want to stay in public service or if you want to learn skills that work anywhere—budgeting, audit, IT, HR, and more.

The Mpumalanga Provincial Treasury is a key part of the province’s government. It keeps the budget balanced, supports services, and makes sure money is spent responsibly. By working there, you’ll learn about public finance, administrative rules, and how to collaborate with other departments.

If you’re a recent graduate who is looking for a clear path into a steady job, this internship is worth checking out. It gives you paid work, real experience, and a chance to network with people who work in the public sector.
