What the bursary is
The Metacom Foundation Bursary 2027 funds South African women from previously disadvantaged backgrounds who live in the Western Cape. It covers full tuition for a Bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or a related field at selected universities.
Who can apply
- South African citizen, female, aged 18‑27
- From a previously disadvantaged background
- Resident of the Western Cape
- In Matric year or have completed Matric
- Planning to study – or already studying – a Bachelor’s in ICT, Computer Science, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related subject
- Enrolling at one of these universities: University of Cape Town (UCT), University of the Western Cape (UWC), Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) or Stellenbosch University
- Strong academic record and demonstrable financial need
