The KwaZulu‑Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture is inviting unemployed TVET N6 and Diploma students to apply for its In‑Service Training Programme 2026/2027 – the deadline is only 26 June 2026, so act now.
What is the In‑Service Training Programme?
This is a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) scheme that places you in a real department office for up to 18 months. You earn a monthly stipend of R5 865.25 while you gain the practical experience needed to finish your qualification.
Who can apply?
- Unemployed South African youth living in KwaZulu‑Natal.
- Age between 18 and 35 years.
- Enrolled in a relevant N6, National Diploma or Degree programme (e.g., Financial Management, Public Management, HR, Library Science, Sport Management, etc.).
- Require workplace exposure to complete the qualification.
- Have not previously taken part in a government WIL programme or had work experience in the same field.
- Designated groups and applicants from designated areas are especially encouraged.
What you will gain
- Monthly stipend of R5 865.25.
- Hands‑on experience in one of 32 posts across various districts.
- Professional networking within the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture.
- Skills that employers look for in the public and private sectors.
How to apply – step by step
- Download the Z83 Application Form (2021 version) from the department’s website.
- Complete the form in full and sign it. Use the correct reference number for the post you want (DSAC WIL 01‑10).
- Prepare the required supporting documents:
- Updated CV
- Proof of residential address
- Academic records and qualification / statement of results
- If you studied abroad, a SAQA evaluation and NQF level confirmation
- Quote the exact reference number on your application.
- Submit the application either:
- Hand‑delivered to the district office that hosts the placement, or
- Posted to the physical address listed for that district.
- Keep a copy of everything you send for your records.
Tips to improve your chances
- Check that every field in the Z83 form is filled out – an incomplete form leads to disqualification.
- Tailor your CV to highlight coursework and any volunteer work related to the chosen post.
- Double‑check the reference number and address before sending.
- If you belong to a designated group, mention it clearly in your application.
- Contact Mrs TN Shongwe (083 414 1671) for clarification, but do not rely on unofficial advice.
- Submit well before the 26 June deadline; late applications are not considered.
