The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) is looking for a new graduate to join its Gauteng Regional Office as a Trainee – Junior Business Analyst.
This six‑month, fixed‑term role will give you a real look at how large projects get funded and approved in South Africa. You will sit right next to the team that makes these deals happen – the Dealmakers and Senior Dealmakers – and help them screen and assess funding requests. Your day‑to‑day tasks

As a Trainee – Junior Business Analyst you’ll do the following:

  • Help the Dealmakers check and evaluate funding requests.
  • Do simple reviews of application forms and get them ready for discussion with senior teams.
  • Put together client files, templates, and paperwork needed for due‑diligence.
  • Keep the SAP system up to date – that means entering details about enquiries, applications, and each step of the due‑diligence process.
  • Arrange meetings, keep track of schedules, send follow‑ups, and handle general office work.
  • Store clear records of all client interactions and what was decided.
  • Support the regional team with day‑to‑day operations.
  • Assist administrators with tracking the progress of the deal pipeline, adding notes, and monitoring where each request stands.

  • A Bachelor’s degree or a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of work experience in a related discipline.

Skills & strengths

  • Good at analysing numbers and facts.
  • Knowing how development finance works is a plus.
  • Understanding what IDC does for South Africa.
  • Strong client interaction and communication.
  • Works well with teammates and in larger groups.
  • Can write clear reports.
