Impala Platinum Refineries Bursary 2027 – Apply by 31 Aug 2026

Impala Platinum Refineries is offering a bursary for the 2027 academic year, and the deadline is fast approaching. If you are finishing Matric and dream of an engineering or science degree, this could be the support you need right now.

What the bursary provides

Implats will fund a full NQF Level 7 degree for selected fields. The package covers tuition, accommodation and study materials. In addition, bursary holders may take part in a short vacation work placement during the December/January holidays, giving you a taste of the mining and processing industry.

Who can apply

You must meet all of the following:

  • South African citizen
  • Currently in your final year of Matric
  • Plan to study one of the approved subjects (see below)
  • Grade 11 results of at least 60 % (Level 5) in English, Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Provide the required documents (ID, Grade 11 results, conditional offer, CV, proof of residence)

Approved fields of study

The bursary is limited to these degree programmes:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Chemistry
  • Electrical Engineering (preferably Heavy Current)
  • Mechanical Engineering
