What the Hortgro Bursary Programme 2027 offers
Hortgro, a leader in South Africa’s deciduous fruit sector, is funding students who will work in the industry. The bursary runs for the 2027 academic year and can be renewed each year if you keep your grades up. You will also get a mentor to guide you.
Who can apply
- You are a South African citizen.
- You have finished Matric or are currently in your final year.
- You plan to study a related qualification – agriculture, horticulture or a similar field – starting in 2027.
- You will study at a recognised South African tertiary institution.
- You meet the entry requirements for your chosen course.

- Latest tertiary transcript (if you are already studying).

- Proof of parents’/guardians’ income – payslips or an affidavit.
- Details of any other scholarships, bursaries or loans you have.
