Gold One Gedex Mining Apprenticeships 2026 – Apply by 15 May

Gold One Group is inviting South African youth to apply for the External Apprenticeship Opportunities 2026 at Gedex Operations. The deadline is fast approaching – you have until 15 May 2026 to submit your application.

What the apprenticeship is

Gedex Operations, part of Gold One New Shelf 1186, is a gold mine located in Brakpan, about 30 km east of Johannesburg. The 2026 apprenticeship programme will train artisans in several mining and engineering trades. You will work on site in Springs, Benoni, and Brakpan, Gauteng.

Who can apply

You must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Completed N2 or NCV Level 4
  • South African citizen, under 35 years old
  • Clear criminal record (screening will be done)
  • Medically fit and able to work underground and on shifts
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proof of residence (preferably from Ekurhuleni Metro – wards 71, 72, 73, 75, 97)
  • Certified copies of qualifications and ID (PDF, not older than 3 months)
