Why This Matters to You

You may be wondering why you should spend time on an agriculture course when there are many other options. Agriculture is one of the biggest employers in South Africa, especially in rural areas. A Level 3 qualification from a respected TVET college can set you apart from other applicants for farm jobs, agricultural support roles, or even roles in food distribution and processing.

Learning plant production skills also gives you tools you can use for a future farm or a small business. Even if you never become a farmer, the knowledge of crop management, sustainable practices and equipment handling is useful in many industries, including retail, hospitality and environmental services.

Take the First Step

  1. Check the requirements – Make sure you qualify.
  2. Gather the documents – Keep copies ready and proof of residence.
  3. Write a short email – Tell the college why you want this learnership.
  4. Send it all before the deadline – 7 November 2025, 12:00.

This could be the start of a new career path. It offers a mix of classroom learning and fieldwork, giving you a solid foundation for a future in agriculture. Don’t miss this chance to turn your interest in plants into a skill set that can bring you steady work and a sense of contribution to your community.
