  3. Download the new Z83 form (effective from 1 January 2021).
  4. Complete the Z83 form for each internship you wish to apply for. Do not combine applications.
  5. Attach a detailed, up‑to‑date CV to each application.
  6. If you need experiential training, upload the formal letter from your institution.
  7. Submit the application before 08 May 2026. Late or incomplete submissions will be rejected.

If you prefer, you may also send a hard copy of the completed Z83 form and supporting documents by post or courier to:

Private Bag X59
Pretoria 0001

Or hand‑deliver to Trevenna Campus, Corner Meintjies and Francis Baard Street, Former Schoeman, Pretoria.

Tips to improve your chances

  • Use the latest Z83 form – older versions are automatically rejected.
  • Tailor your CV to highlight relevant modules, projects or work‑integrated learning that match the internship’s requirements.
  • Apply for only the posts you meet the minimum qualification for; this reduces the risk of disqualification.
  • Proofread every document; spelling errors or missing signatures are common reasons for rejection.
  • Keep a copy of all files you upload – you may need to resend them if the system glitches.
  • Prepare certified copies of your qualifications in advance; you will be asked for them if shortlisted.
  • Remember that a suitability check, citizenship verification and security clearance are mandatory.

Next steps

This internship is a practical gateway into South Africa’s mineral and petroleum sector. If you meet the criteria, gather your Z83 form, CV and any required letters, then submit your application before the 8 May deadline. Even if you are not selected this round, the experience of completing the process will be valuable for future applications.
