What the internship is

The NDZ Municipality Internship Programme runs for 12 months. It gives you hands‑on experience in municipal finance, environmental management and community services. Most interns receive a monthly stipend of R5 000. The Finance Management Intern is paid R75 000 per year.

Who can apply

You must meet all of the following:

  • South African citizen
  • Live inside the municipality’s boundaries (Creighton, Himeville or surrounding areas)
  • Unemployed at the time of application
  • Hold a Grade 12 certificate and a relevant diploma or degree for the role you are applying for
  • Be able to communicate in English and isiZulu
  • Have basic computer skills

1. Municipal Finance Management Intern (1 vacancy)

Department: Finance · Stipend: R75 000 per annum

  • National Diploma or Degree in Accounting (or equivalent)
  • Good written and spoken English & isiZulu
  • Computer literacy

2. Data Cleanser Intern (2 vacancies)

Department: Finance

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma or Degree in Financial Management, Accounting or a related field

3. Revenue Cashier Intern (1 vacancy)

Department: Finance

  • Grade 12
  • Qualification related to finance or accounting

4. Payroll / Expenditure Intern (1 vacancy)

Department: Finance

  • Grade 12
  • Qualification related to finance or accounting

5. Environmental Management Intern (1 vacancy)

Department: Public Works & Basic Services

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Management or a related field

6. Pound Intern (1 vacancy)

Department: Community & Social Services

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma or Degree in Agriculture or a related field
