CETA 2026 Internships: Build Your Construction Career

Want a real job that lets you learn and grow right after finishing school? The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is opening its Graduate Internship Programme 2026 for young South Africans who haven’t yet started a career. You’ll get paid time to work in different parts of a public company that helps build and maintain the country’s infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

CETA wants to give you a taste of the real world and reduce youth unemployment by offering hands‑on work. You will spend the internship moving between teams, so you’ll see how a government‑backed organisation runs. Your progress will be checked each quarter so you know how you’re doing.

  • Compile data for monthly and quarterly reports

  • Create presentations (you’ll do at least one a quarter)
  • Do any extra tasks your supervisor asks for

What You’ll Learn

  • How CETA works inside a public body and the role of the Skills Development Agency (SETA)
  • Both the theory and real‑world skills for your chosen field
  • Basic rules that govern the sector, such as the Skills Development Act, the Public Finance Management Act, tax law, and fairness rules in the workplace (B-BBEE, Employment Equity, etc.)

Who Can Apply

  • You must be a South African citizen under 35 years old
  • You need a valid ID and a recognised post‑matric qualification (degree, diploma or BTech)
