If you are an unemployed graduate living in the Eastern Cape, a three‑year technical graduate training programme is closing soon – the deadline is 8 May 2026. Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality is offering this chance in partnership with the National Treasury.

What the opportunity is

The Young Technical Graduates Training Programme is a 3‑year structured training scheme. It gives you technical skills and real‑world experience in municipal infrastructure, planning and development. The programme is based in East London, Eastern Cape.

Who can apply – eligibility

  • South African citizen
  • Resident of Buffalo City Metro or the Eastern Cape
  • Completed Grade 12
  • Currently unemployed
  • Computer literate

Ref No: 01/26 – Geomatics Division (2 posts)

  • BSc or Degree in Land Surveying or Geomatics

Ref No: 02/26 – GIS Unit (2 posts)

  • Degree in GIS or Geography
  • Or Earth Science degree with GIS as a major

Ref No: 03/26 – Electrical Engineering (2 posts)

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Ref No: 04/26 – Spatial Planning (Diploma) (2 posts)

  • National Diploma in Town and Regional Planning

Ref No: 05/26 – Property Valuation (1 post)

  • National Diploma in Property Valuation

Ref No: 06/26 – Spatial Planning (Degree) (1 post)

  • Degree in Town and Regional Planning
