ASSITEJ Internship 2026 – Arts & Youth Development, apply by 29 April

Are you a young South African looking to start a career that mixes the arts with community impact? ASSITEJ South Africa is opening its doors for an Internship Programme 2026, and the deadline is fast approaching.

What the internship offers

ASSITEJ South Africa will take on five interns who are keen on arts, youth development and social change. The programme runs in two cities – Cape Town and Johannesburg – and is designed for those who want to begin working while making a real difference for children and young people.

Who can apply

To be eligible, you must meet all of the following:

  • Be between 18 and 34 years old
  • Hold South African citizenship
  • Have at least a Matric (Grade 12 / N4) qualification
  • Be enthusiastic about the arts and youth development
  • Be ready to learn, take initiative and work in a team

You do not need any previous formal work experience.

Internship positions

Finance Intern (1)

📍 Cape Town

  • Support financial data management
  • Assist with reporting, budgeting and analysis

M&E Data Capturer & Research Intern (2)

📍 Cape Town (1) – Johannesburg (1)

  • Capture data and maintain M&E systems
  • Conduct research and help with reporting
  • Support impact evaluation activities

Administrative Assistant Intern (1)

📍 Johannesburg

  • Provide general administrative support
  • Handle filing, data capture and office logistics
  • Assist with day‑to‑day operations

Marketing & Communications Intern (1)

📍 Johannesburg

  • Support marketing and social media tasks
  • Create engaging content
  • Help grow the organisation’s online presence
