What the apprenticeship offers
AFGRI Equipment will take on 40 apprentices who will train to become:
- Tractor Mechanics
- Earthmoving Mechanics
The programme lasts about three years and combines on‑the‑job training with formal learning and product training. You will work with agricultural, construction, forestry and earthmoving equipment. The apprenticeship is available at many AFGRI branches, including Bethal, Bethlehem, Brits, Delmas, Frankfort, Grootvlei, Komatipoort, Marble Hall, Middelburg, Standerton, Harrismith, Marquard, Thabazimbi, Polokwane, Bellville, Malmesbury, Ceres, Worcester, Piketberg, George, Vredendal, Caledon, Kempton Park, Tzaneen, Springbok, Nelspruit, Newcastle, Winterton, Dalton, Pietermaritzburg, Empangeni, Salt Rock and Kokstad.
Who can apply
You must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification
- Valid South African driver’s licence
- Good communication and administrative skills
- Basic computer literacy

- Mathematics or Technical Mathematics (Mathematical Literacy is not accepted)
Advantageous subjects
- Physical Science
- Engineering Science
- Engineering Graphics & Design
- Diesel Trade Theory
- Motor Trade Theory
