Rosond, a big mining and drilling company in South Africa, is looking for students who want to study important subjects like engineering, geology, or data science. If you’re between 18 and 30, have finished high school, and are a South African citizen, you can apply for a bursary that will cover one full year of tuition for 2026. The bursary ends on 16 November 2025, so act fast!
What the Bursary Covers
- One full academic year of tuition at a recognized South African university.
- If you need more help after the first year, you can apply again.
- The amount is decided by how well you did in school and how much money your family needs.
You’ll hear whether you’ve made it by 31 January 2026. If you don’t get a reply by then, you can assume your application was not successful.

Who Can Apply?
To qualify, you must meet every single requirement below:
- South African citizen
- Age 18‑30
- Have finished high school (Matric)
- Studying or planning to study full‑time for an undergraduate degree in one of the approved subjects.
- In 1st to 3rd year of your degree in 2026.
- Attending a recognized and accredited university in South Africa.
- Overall average of at least 60 % in your grades.
- Priority goes to people living in Rosond host communities.
- Preference for students who were previously disadvantaged and are studying in a critical skill area.
- If you’re a family member of a Rosond employee, you can apply for the internal bursary.
If you don’t meet all these, your application will be turned down.
What You Need to Send
Complete the application form and bring these documents. Make sure they are clean, legible copies:
- Certified copy of your South African ID.
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate.
- Full academic transcript if you’re already studying.
- Official fee statement or quote from your university.
- Proof you’re registered at a recognized tertiary institution (official letterhead).
- Proof of where you live (utility bill or similar).
- Household income proof:
- Recent payslips or bank statements if you or a parent is working.
- Affidavit if no one is working.
- Proof of any government grant, pension, or disability grant.
- Death certificate if a parent or guardian has passed away.
- A short letter that says why you deserve the bursary and how your chosen subject matches Rosond’s needs.
Missing any of these will automatically disqualify you.
