- National N6 Certificate in a relevant trade, or N4/N5 Certificate with trade subjects, or

Engineer in Training (both departments)
- Fully completed BEng or BSc Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Process, Metallurgy, Chemical or Civil Engineering.
Learner Plant Operator
- Grade 12 with Mathematics 50 %, Physical Science 50 % and English 40 % (or N3/NCV Level 4 with same marks), or
- National N4/N5/N6 Certificate with trade subjects, National Diploma, BTech, BEng or BSc Engineering qualification.
