The University of Limpopo (UL) will host two Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in the Faculty of Humanities. The posts are part of the DSTI/NRF South African Research Chair Initiative (SARChI) on Liberation Heritage and Politics. The two‑year appointments start as soon as possible and aim to strengthen UL’s research environment while giving you structured post‑doctoral training.

Who can apply?

To be eligible you must meet all of the following:

  • PhD (NQF Level 10) in Politics, History, African Studies or a related discipline.
  • PhD awarded within the last five years.
  • Evidence of research productivity (peer‑reviewed articles, book chapters, etc.).
  • Clear interest in African liberation heritage and politics.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good computer and data‑management abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and in interdisciplinary teams.
