What the internship is
The Artscape Theatre Centre in the Western Cape is looking for one graduate to join its Maintenance Department as an EPWP Intern – Plumber (Graduate). The placement runs from the day you start until 31 March 2027, lasting about eight months. You will earn a daily stipend of R243 while gaining hands‑on experience in a busy cultural venue.
Who can apply
To be eligible you must meet all of the following:
- Grade 12 or N3/NTC 3 qualification, plus a recognised plumbing diploma or degree
- Certified Red Seal Plumber Artisan qualification
- Working knowledge of plumbing regulations, tools and equipment
- Age between 18 and 35 years
- South African citizenship with no criminal record
- Residence in the Western Cape (proof of address required)
- Ability to speak at least two of these languages: English, Afrikaans or isiXhosa
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, public holidays and evening productions
