If you need help paying for your degree, the deadline to apply for the Schauenburg Education Trust Bursary Programme 2027 is fast approaching – you must submit before 31 July 2026. The award is open to students studying in Gauteng.
What the bursary offers
The Trust will fund students who are studying scarce‑skill qualifications. It can cover all or part of:
- University tuition fees (prescribed rates)
- Registration and exam fees
- Textbooks and course material
- Accommodation allowance (average single‑room hostel rate)
- Living allowance
Payments for tuition, registration and exams go straight to the university. Other allowances are decided by the trustees.
Who can apply
To be eligible you must meet all of the following:
- Be a full‑time student in your 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study
- Study one of these qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering (BEng or BSc)
- Business Management (BCom)
- Business Administration (BCom)
- Be enrolled at one of these Gauteng universities:
- University of Pretoria
- University of Johannesburg
- North‑West University – Vanderbijlpark Campus
- University of the Witwatersrand
- Be a South African citizen with a valid ID number
- Identify as Black under B‑BBEE legislation (preference for Black women, Black applicants under 35, and Black applicants with disabilities)
- Not already receiving another bursary for the 2027 academic year
What you gain
The bursary removes the biggest financial barriers to completing your degree. In addition you will:
- Gain work‑experience through a three‑week vacation‑work or job‑shadowing placement at Schauenburg Systems (Pty) Ltd
- Build a professional network with industry mentors
- Strengthen your CV with a recognised scholarship

- Complete the form and attach the required documents (see below).
- Submit the form online by clicking here. Make sure you upload all files before the deadline.
- If you are short‑listed, attend the interview, psychometric test and agree to the three‑week placement.
- Sign the bursary contract if you are selected.
