What the bursary offers
Hot Cares and Guvon Academy are funding a full three‑year Occupational Certificate in Culinary Arts (SAQA ID 101697). The training combines classroom theory, hands‑on kitchen practice and workplace placements in the hospitality industry. The programme starts in July 2026 at Guvon Academy in Johannesburg.
Who can apply
You must meet all of the following:
- South African citizen
- Matric (Grade 12) completed
- Passion for cooking and a clear intention to become a professional chef
- Willingness to study full‑time at Guvon Academy, Johannesburg
What you will receive
The bursary is worth about R350 000 and covers:
- Full tuition fees
- Textbooks and study materials
- Professional chef’s uniform
- Chef’s knife set
- Access to internationally recognised Highfield qualifications (UK)
- Practical and workplace‑based training
Graduates earn a recognised Occupational Certificate and gain experience that opens doors in restaurants, hotels, resorts, catering firms and even culinary entrepreneurship.
