SHRA Compliance Internship 2026 – Johannesburg – Apply by 01 June

Are you a recent graduate looking for real‑world experience right now? The Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) is offering a two‑year Compliance Internship, and the deadline is fast approaching.

What the internship is

SHRA is a Schedule 3A public entity under the Department of Human Settlements. Its role is to regulate affordable rental social housing for low‑ to middle‑income South Africans. Through its Young Graduate Programme, SHRA will take on an intern as a Compliance Officer Intern in the Compliance, Audit and Risk (CAR) department.

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

Duration: 24 months

Monthly Stipend: R11 172.49

Reporting to: Compliance Manager

Who can apply

  • South African citizen
  • Unemployed and under 35 years old
  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate
  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Law, Business Management or Auditing
  • Computer‑literacy and strong attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Additional advantage: Certificate in Compliance Management

What you will learn

During the 24‑month placement you will gain hands‑on experience in:

  • Compliance monitoring
  • Compliance information management and reporting
  • Compliance support services
  • Regulatory enforcement processes
