What the internship is

UNFPA South Africa’s Country Office is hiring graduate and student interns for three roles:

Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, HIV, Gender & Youth (2 positions)

  • Assist with programme planning and coordination
  • Support stakeholder meetings and forums
  • Help organise capacity‑building workshops
  • Contribute to communication and reporting
  • Monitor programme implementation
  • Provide internal communication support

Operations and Administration (1 position)

  • Manage VAT recoveries
  • Monitor budgets and analyse expenditures

  • Assist with financial reporting
  • Process administrative payments
  • Coordinate finance follow‑ups

Who can apply

You are eligible if you meet one of the following:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree and have completed at least one year of study
  • Enrolled in a postgraduate programme
  • Graduated within the last 12 months and can start the internship within a year of graduation

In addition, you should:

  • Have strong communication and analytical skills
  • Be proficient in English
  • Be comfortable working in a multicultural environment
