The Western Cape Government has started its 2026/2027 Graduate Internship Programme. It’s a paid internship that lets fresh graduates who haven’t yet found a job get real work experience in different provincial departments. If you’re 20‑35 years old, a South African citizen, live in the Western Cape and have a certificate, diploma, degree or higher, this could be the first step toward a career.

Who Can Apply

We especially welcome students who may not have money for a car or internet, or who don’t have a career adviser. This programme can give you a foothold in the job market.

What You’ll Need to Show

  1. A current Curriculum Vitae in MS Word or similar format.
  2. A certified copy of your ID.
  3. Proof of your qualification – a diploma, degree certificate or transcripts.

All documents will be checked. If any part of the application is missing, it will be rejected.

  3. Fill in your personal details.
  4. Upload the documents above.
  5. Submit your profile.
  6. Verify your email.

Step 2 – Apply

  1. Search for “Graduate Internship Programme 2026/2027.”
  2. Click “Apply.”
  3. Answer the short questionnaire.
  4. Submit and wait for a confirmation email.

All applications must be done online. If you don’t have a computer, you can still apply at a library, a community centre, or one of the government walk‑in sites. Internet cafés also work if you need a connection.
