Want a real‑world job that builds your resume and pays a monthly stipend? The Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) is looking for a fresh graduate to join its 2026‑2027 Internship Programme as a Business Analyst Intern.
The internship is a two‑year program that brings you from campus straight into a workplace that makes a difference for people who need affordable homes. You will be based in Parktown, Johannesburg, and will learn how to help the government keep social housing safe, fair and reliable for low‑ to medium‑income families. The role is part of the Compliance, Accreditation and Regulations team, where you’ll track how housing providers follow the law and suggest improvements.

- Location – 32 Princess of Wales Terrace, Parktown, Johannesburg, South Africa
- Stipend – R11,175 per month
The program is open only to South African graduates who are under 35, currently without a job, and who have no previous work experience. A bachelor’s degree or national diploma in accounting, auditing, financial management or a related field is required. A Grade 12 certificate is also a must.
What You’ll Do
As a Business Analyst Intern, you’ll dive into three main areas:
Compliance Verification and Reporting
- Check the information that housing companies submit against their paperwork.
- Help write individual assessment reports.
- Support the sending of compliance notices and declarations.
Monitoring and Assessment
- Build reports that track compliance over time.
- Review the answers companies give when they meet new compliance conditions.
- Work with the team to create action plans that help companies stay on track.
Investigations and Database Administration
- Assist in internal investigations and quick checks of problems.
- Spot places where rules are not being followed.
- Handle routine admin tasks, including keeping the database up to date.
You’ll report to a full‑time Business Analyst and learn how to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint every day. If you know other data tools, that’s a bonus.
Skills You Need
- Good at spotting mistakes and solving puzzles.
- Sharp focus on details when checking data.
- Clear writing and speaking in English.
- Able to work by yourself and finish tasks on time.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office.
- A knack for data analysis is extra good.
