Start Your Beauty Career with the Sorbet Academy Bursary 2026
Are you dreaming of a job where you can shape people’s looks, create fresh styles, or keep men’s hair and beards looking sharp? Sorbet Academy is offering a free training program for students across South Africa who want to turn that dream into a real job. The “Sorbet Academy Bursary 2026” gives you hands‑on lessons, real‑world experience, and a clear route into a career in beauty and grooming.
What the Bursary Is All About
The bursary is a scholarship that pays for the whole year of schooling at one of three Sorbet Academy campuses: Woodmead in Gauteng, Mount Edgecombe in KwaZulu‑Natal, and Century City in the Western Cape. You can study one of these four areas:
- Barbering – learn how to cut, shape, and style men’s hair and beards.
- Beauty – learn makeup, skincare, and general beauty treatments.
- Hair – master cutting, coloring, and styling for everyone.
- Nails – get expert skills in nail art, maintenance, and design.
When you finish, you will have a certification that is recognised by bodies like SETA and ITEC, so your qualifications will be worth looking at by employers across the country. And because Sorbet Academy is part of the bigger Sorbet Group, you could even find a job inside one of their many salons after you graduate.
Who Can Apply?
You need to meet all of the following before you can send an email:
- You must be a citizen of South Africa.
- You have to be 18 years old or older.
- You must have finished high school – a Matric certificate is required.
- You have to want to study one of the four fields mentioned above.
- You need to be able to study in Gauteng, KwaZulu‑Natal or the Western Cape.
