NPA: TVET Internship & Placement 2026 – Launch Your Career

Looking for a real‑world work experience? The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has a 24‑month internship program in Kimberley, Northern Cape.
If you are a South African student or recent graduate who hasn’t worked before, this could be a great chance to learn inside a government office, earn a small stipend, and see what it’s like to help keep the community safe. The program starts in 2026 and ends in 2028, and you’ll be paid about R6,659 every month. The deadline to send your application is 17 November 2025.

The NPA is looking for one intern in each of two areas: Finance and Human Resources. These are your first time in a professional setting, and the NPA will not accept people who have already been in an internship with them.

What the internship will look like

  • 24‑month full‑time schedule.
  • You will work at the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in Kimberley.
  • You’ll get hands‑on experience in the chosen field (Finance or HR).
  • You’ll receive a monthly stipend of R6 659 to help with living costs.

How to qualify

  1. South African citizen – No other nationality is accepted.
  2. No criminal record – You must be clean on the police database.
  3. Unemployed – We are looking for people who have not worked in an internship before.
  4. Education
    • Finance intern: need an N6 in Finance or a similar qualification.
    • HR intern: need an N6 in Human Resource Management or a related qualification.
    • You also need a Matric certificate.
  5. Paperwork – Submit the new Z83 form (available on the DPSA website) and a detailed CV.
  6. Email – Send the forms to the specific email address for each post. Wrong email or missing documents will cancel your application.

Only people who are chosen for a final interview will need to send certified copies of their certificates, provide fingerprints, or let the NPA check their social media for identity verification.

The NPA does not pay for moving or living costs. If you are selected, you will stay in Kimberley.


Application steps (in plain English)

  1. Download the new Z83 application form from the Department of Public Service and Administration site.
  2. Fill out every section of the form, sign it, and attach your latest CV.
  3. Write the reference number for the position you want (KIMFIN for Finance, KIMHRM for HR).
  4. Check that your documents match the qualification requirements.
  5. Email the file to the correct address:
    • Finance intern – kimfin@npa.gov.za
    • HR intern – kimhrm@npa.gov.za
  6. Make sure you do this before 17 November 2025.
  7. Keep a copy of the email you send.

If you do not receive a reply within a week after the deadline, you may email the contact person listed for the role. If you do not hear anything after six months, the application was not successful.
