Why Worley Is Offering This Bursary

Worley, a global engineering and science company, wants to help bright South African students who might not have enough money to study. The Bursary Programme will give you a Springboard into a degree in engineering or science and a chance to work on real projects during university holidays.


Which Degrees Can You Apply For?

You can apply if you are studying for either:

DegreeFields that Are Covered
B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science)– Civil Engineering
– Electrical Engineering
– Mechanical Engineering
BEng (Bachelor of Engineering)– Mining Engineering

If you’re in one of these courses at a recognised South African university, you’re on the right track.


What the Bursary Will Pay For

Here’s what the bursary can help cover, so you don’t have to worry about the heavy costs of studying:

  • Registration fees – the one‑time charge to get into the class.
  • Tuition – the full course fees you pay each year.
  • Book allowance – a set amount to buy class books.
  • Computer or laptop allowance – a stipend for a device you need.
  • Accommodation – housing at the university or private flats.
  • Data allowance – a monthly data pack to stay connected.

Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to do vacation work with Worley during university breaks. This gives you real‑world experience and a chance to learn about the industry straight from professionals.


Who Is Eligible?

To be considered, you must:

  1. Be a South African citizen.
  2. Have finished Matric and achieved a minimum 65% overall average.
  3. Be studying for a B.Sc. or BEng in one of the listed fields.
  4. Be registered at an accredited South African tertiary institution.
  5. Have completed your first year and be moving into your second year (or second/third year for Mining Engineering).
  6. Not have any failed subjects.
  7. Come from a previously and financially disadvantaged background.
