South African Weather Service TVET Learnerships 2026 – Apply Today

Get Real‑World Experience at the South African Weather Service
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is looking for fresh TVET College students to join its 18‑month Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme in 2026. If you just finished an N6 in Electrical Engineering, this is a chance to work in a professional environment, earn a stipend, and gain the hands‑on skills you need to finish your National Diploma. The programme takes place at SAWS offices in Centurion, Gauteng, and starts early next year.

What is the South African Weather Service?

SAWS is the country’s official weather agency. It monitors the climate, gives early warnings for bad weather, and supports safety for the public, pilots, farmers, and maritime crews. Because weather affects so many parts of life, the work here is important and exciting.

What the WIL Programme Offers

The WIL Programme is a practical training plan that lasts 18 months. It is made for TVET College students who already know the theory but need real job exposure to qualify for a National Diploma. You will learn by doing, working alongside experts in a real office setting. The programme also matches the skills most in demand across South Africa, so the training is useful whether you want a job at SAWS or anywhere else in the tech field.
