Shoprite is looking for young, unemployed people in South Africa to join the Shoprite Money Market YES Programme for 2026.

The programme is a 12‑month job that gives you real work experience in a Shoprite store. You will help customers buy things, talk to them about the Money Market Account, and learn how retail and financial services work. If you finish the year, you’ll have a good foundation for jobs in retail, banking, insurance, or sales.

Shoprite is the biggest food retailer in Africa. They want to help young people get work experience and money. Through the Shoprite Money Market YES Programme, the company teams up with schools like West Coast College to give real‑world learning that fits what you study.


What’s the job about?

The Shoprite Money Market YES Programme is a work‑based learning path that matches the national YES initiative. You’ll be employed for a full year and will work inside a live shop. You’ll learn:

  • How to talk to customers and close sales
  • How to manage money products such as the Money Market Account
  • How to follow store rules and keep a clean, safe environment
  • How to meet sales targets and keep customers happy

This role is more than a temporary gig – it’s a stepping stone to many other careers.

Who can apply?

To join, you must meet every one of the following:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Finish a N6 or a comparable W&RSETA course (like Office Administration or Marketing Management)
  • Be ready to work in a shop and help customers
  • Want to meet sales targets and keep service high
  • Be able to stay for the whole 12‑month period
