About the Internship Programme
The Northern Coal Engineering Internship Programme 2025/2026 is a 12‑month job that is designed for South African graduates who have no full‑time work experience and want to start a career in mining. You’ll get hands‑on experience, see how the industry works, and have a mentor to guide you.
Internship Fields
You can join one of the following engineering branches:
- Mining Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
You’ll learn how the daily mining work is done, solve real technical problems and understand the processes that keep the operation running.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply we need you to meet these simple rules:
- Have a degree or national diploma in one of the engineering fields above.
- Be a South African citizen aged 18–35 years.
- Provide proof that you live in South Africa (e.g., a municipal bill or a sworn statement).
- Send a clear CV.
- Attach certified copies of your ID card, academic transcripts or certificate of completion.
- Be a recent graduate or still finishing your studies – you must not have worked full‑time in this field before.
Health & Safety: You must have or be able to get a health fitness certificate required by the Mine Health and Safety Act.
